Here is a Lionel 6-38045 Lionmaster O Gauge New York Central J3A Hudson Steam Locomotive & Tender #5418. During its glory years, the Hudson 4-6-4 was the symbol of the New York Central Railroad. In the late 1930s the type reached its zenith with the introduction of the J3a, the so-called super Hudson. They hauled the most prestigious passenger trains on the system, such as the Twentieth Century Limited. Rolling out of the Norfolk & Westerns Roanoke Shops in 1936, the Class A 2-6-6-4 articulated steam locomotives moved mainline freight and even some passenger consists for over 20 years. Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world!

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. A marker piece is detached form the locomotive, but will be available for re-application. These items show some scratches and spots of paint loss on the shell and chassis. These items are in excellent overall condition, free of broken trim pieces. These items show some signs of light previous use. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included.
