This is an Stewart 4620 HO Scale Undecorated Diesel Baldwin VO-660 Powered with Stewart Drive Phase I. Baldwin’s VO-660 was first introduced in 1940. And while it bore a similar appearance to the VO-100 the VO-660 was approximately three feet shorter in length. The first VO-660 was ordered by the Northern Pacific Railroad and had an oval grill (not manufactured by Stewart Hobbies). The first unit with the more common angled front was the EJ&E #271 built in March 1941. Approximately 130 VO-660’s were produced by Baldwin with the angled front when production ended with Kansas City Southern’s #1150 in May 1946.
